A smooth, downtempo track with an alternative hip-hop beat, ‘Lace’ chronicles a tale of depression and survival, while showcasing a move away from his previous darker productions, which includes the bass-heavy 'Spill' (feat. Noah Kin). 'Lace' is taken from View's forthcoming debut EP, 'Avalon', and will be released on 2nd October.
View's video, directed by 22 year old self taught Finnish filmmaker Jenni Salonen, is an ambitious short film. "I feel that in filmmaking, there is always one goal in each film: to convey emotions. Every project that I take on is built on the foundation of a feeling," explains Jenni. "The video is all about strong emotions and the lead character’s dark side. It’s also about introspection and handling despair, that later on leads to finding yourself and creating one’s self-image." Divided into two different parts, the first focuses on creating and building the narrative that will lead to the end's climax point, whilst the second focuses on the themes touched on by 'Lace'.
