"Downtown Gallery, the communication project celebrating Iceberg’s 40th anniversary, is now in its second stage. Olivier Zahm, founder and editor-in-chief of Purple Fashion magazine – famous French fashion, art and culture magazine – has shot the campaign once again. With his unique Polaroids, Zahm simultaneously continues and renews the brand’s creative dialogue with the wide world of culture which photographer Oliviero Toscani set in motion in the 1980s with his iconic "I Contemporanei" ad campaign. From Downtown New York the set moves this time to the heart of Paris. In the backdrop are the homes and studios of characters who embody Iceberg’s ever innovative and irreverent spirit. First and foremost on the lineup is Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, co-founder of Iceberg in the mid '70s, at his house museum. Then come London-based DJ Mary Charteris, Parisian artist André Saraiva, British model and actress Lily McMenamy, French actress and filmmaker Joana Preiss, Chinese artist Yi Zhou, and Italian fashion designer Alessandro Dell'Acqua. They all offer personal takes on the graphics and colors of the Iceberg FW 2015/16 knits inspired by the early works of Castelbajac and Memphis designs. The shooting is supplemented by a series of short videos where graphics and lines of color alternate to the beat of the sounds of the city. Each character interacts with the camera to reveal his or her own unique snapshot."
