Ecca Vandal shares new track titled "End of Time". Out 27th November via Island/Dew Process. Debut album due 2016. Stay tuned !
Taken from her genre-bending debut album due 2016, ‘End of Time’ highlights Ecca’s anti-genre persona and is a sonic shift from her previous releases. An exciting reminder of just how difficult it is to pigeonhole her as an artist. Co-produced by Ecca, in collaboration with producer and co-writer Kidnot, it’s the first track to not feature a distorted guitar. Instead, it's injected with gritty, pulsing beats as a foundation for Ecca's soaring melodies against dark, pop synths.
The Melbourne-based artist says of ‘End Of Time’, “It’s about being committed to something for life… no matter how unattainable it is, no matter how much you sacrifice. And that thing that takes hold of you can be a blessing and curse."
Ecca Vandal is a force to be reckoned with, the name ‘Vandal’ chosen as a reminder to ‘deface’ her sound each time when writing music and not to get too comfortable in a particular genre. Inspired by having no borders and no boundaries, Ecca names her musical influences among the likes of Bjork, Radiohead, Mr Bungle and Fugazi; artists who she declares are “in their own lane” and have forged their own creative path. + via the official facebook page here.
