From a pub rock city, Newcastle in Australia, Skyepaint (Amos Wellings) share with us his debut single "Maybe It's My Fault" from his solo synthpop/electronica project ! So 80's, so catchy, press play and enjoy the track just below.
After relocating from London back to his hometown of Newcastle, Australia in late 2016, Amos began writing material for a new project that would eventually become Skyepaint. The project was envisioned as a modern take on synthpop music, drawing inspiration from some of the genre's most uncompromising artists past and present, such as Depeche Mode, Purity Ring and M83, as well as indie electronic innovators such as Grimes, Jamie xx and The Postal Service.
Amos's previous work as a songwriter and producer in the indie electronic duo Amos & Emily has received support from international music blogs and tastemakers such as Acid Stag, Beautiful Buzzz, The Revue, Salacious Sound and more. As a DJ, Amos has shared line-ups with many of Australia’s leading names in electronic music, including Pnau, Client Liaison, The Kite String Tangle, Alison Wonderland and more.
In addition to the release of “Maybe It's My Fault”, Amos will be launching Skyepaint with a live performance at The Cambridge Hotel in Newcastle, Australia on Sunday 3rd December, with a tour of the Australian east-coast to follow in early 2018.
