Italian young fashion designer Greta Moroni, from Intituto Secoli in Milano, won the Ecological Concept Prize at the First China ( Shenzhen ) International Ecologic Fashion Design Contest. The collection of Italian designer was selected for the final of the first edition of the International Ecologic Fashion Design Contest, the first Chinese competition dedicated to environmental respect. A jury of experts from the fashion industry awarded the best designers from all over the world on December 12, 2017 in Shenzhen. Greta Moroni, was the only Italian designer choosed and received the Ecologic Concept Prize along with a scholarship.
The event was organized by the Shenzhen Economic Trade & Information Technology Committee and the Shenzhen Garment Industry Association. The theme of the competition was Awakening-Original, Green, Healthy and aimed to establish a new concept of fashion culture, spreading the value of ecological fashion, increasing awareness and social responsibility on this important question. The Ecologic Fashion Design Contest was launched last March during Shenzhen Fashion Week.
Greta Moroni is a young Italian designer of 23 years old, born in 1993, in Milan and student of the Istituto Secoli in Milano. Moroni signs the S / S 2018 women's collection entitled 'Utopia for a positive world'. The leaders are the translation of a feasible utopia: it is possible to live in a better place and spread positive messages. The collection, extremely versatile, embraces a philosophy of life attentive to nature and invites a deep reflection on global pollution. The palette plays with shades of black and white, with great research into materials and attention to eco-sustainability: organic cotton, hemp, linen, and newlife yarn produced 100% recycled plastic bottles. Handmade embroidery and all-over lettering, vital and bursting, enrich the creations.
