Debut single in New Talents FNAC 19' collection (Portugal): JUNNO EDITS "MIDDLE" After Golden Slumbers, Vaarwell and Monday, now it's JUNNO's turn.
Junno is the alter ego of Marta Falcão. The eldest sister of Catarina and Margarida Falcão (Golden Slumbers) performs with the single "Middle", a theme that is included in the CD collection "Novos Talentos FNAC 2019" (New Talents FNAC 2019) and is part of the debut EP, due to be released later this year.
"Middle" was composed by Marta Falcão and produced by Miguel Laureano. It is an introspective song that provokes and reflects about our search for an identity. Through a game of different sonorities, she uses nature as a metaphor for her message. Between pop, electronic and jazz, the song takes us to scenarios of a very particular cinematic feeling, allied with the use of metaphors, in which humour is not forgotten.
Following "Middle" will also be released the music video directed by Filipa Simão, on July 5th. It stars Marta Falcão, Maria Bianchi de Aguiar and Nicole Sena.
Junno is the musical project of Marta Falcão, born in Portugal and based in Lisbon. This course began in 2013 when she began to compose, create arrangements and lyrics, and in 2018 decided to share some of the songs publicly. She won a GDA (a national artist right’s management collective) support, which allowed her to publish her first EP. With the help of Miguel Laureano (Sease) and Ricardo Nagy (Vaarwell) in the production, the EP is expected to launch towards the end of the year.
Singing has always been Marta’s passion. In her childhood, she joined the choir of Santo Amaro de Oeiras. Later, she developed her vocal techniques with Tiago Sepúlveda and Ricardo Quintas, and at the Hot Club jazz school with Vânia Fernandes, having found in Jazz and Bossa Nova the styles that most inspire her. With a broad resume of live performances with her jazz repertoires, she also participated in several concerts of national musicians such as Golden Slumbers, Lotus Fever and Monday.
In her songs, her powerful while melodious, versatile and emotive voice plays in perfect harmony with the surrounding instrumental arrangements. Among Junno's influences are Ella Fitzgerald, Kimbra and Laura Marling.
